Research on Disk Lubricants at MORESCO

Paul H. Kasai

The slide show below illustrates how the Fomblin chain of lubricants such as Z-dol and Z-tetraol undergoes a scission process catalyzed by a Lewis acid (electron deficient) site generated on the slider surface.

During the past two decades, disk lubricants based on perfluoropolyethers challenged us incessantly with issues which required understanding of chemistry at the very basic level.

The purpose of this web-page is to disseminate recent research results at MORESCO. The buttons below indicate the subject matters and are the links to the respective pages.
